New eBook Announcement: WILD PLACES

Today I am pleased to announce the release of my 3rd eBook; WILD PLACES – Exploring the Creative Process of Landscape Photography.

WILD PLACES – Exploring the Creative Process of Landscape Photography is not a book about the technical aspects of landscape photography. It is about the thoughts and decisions that were made, in-the-field, to determine what to include or exclude from the frame to convey visual beauty. Slowing down and making conscious decisions to control the visual elements within the environment will assist you in creating photography that entices the minds and emotions of viewers.

Wild Places features a collection of 110 photographs from Ontario and beyond that will inspire you on your next excursion into wild spaces, as you explore the artistry of the land. Extended captions that correspond to each image provide discussions on the composition, applicable filter selections, and many other useful tidbits of information.

I am often complimented after presenting my various programs for being  an engaging speaker who shares inspiring imagery while explaining various tips and techniques in a way that can be understood by all levels of photographers. Sarnia Photographic Club

I am very excited to be presenting my all day seminar “Visual Beauty and Creative Expression from the Wildlands of Ontario & Beyond” this Saturday, November 9th, for the Sarnia Photographic Club at the Sarnia Library Theatre from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Ajax Photography Club Presentation

 

On Tuesday March, 27, 2018 I will be presenting my “Ontario & Beyond – Wild Places Wild Faces” program for the Ajax Photography Club at the Ajax Community Centre located at 75 Centennial Road in the HSM Room. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend for a $10 admission fee. Mark the date in your calendars and come on out for an enjoyable evening of nature photography and learn the secrets behind how I capture and optimize my my landscape and wildlife imagery.

Upcoming Presentation: Photo Arts Club of Newmarket

On Tuesday November 14 at 7:30 p.m. I will be presenting my Ontario & Beyond: Wild Places Wild Faces program for the Photo Arts Club of Newmarket Camera Club at the Newmarket Communtiy Centre and Lions Hall located at 200 Doug Duncan Drive in Newmarket, Ontario. Non-members are welcome to attend the presentation for an entry fee of $5 per person. The presentation features tons of Ontario related imagery and info for those looking for new places to explore within our province as well as destinations that are further afield such as Cayman Brac and the Amazon Rainforest.

Etobicoke Camera Club Presentation

 

I am pleased to announce that this evening I will be presenting my “A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape” program for the Etobicoke Camera Club at the Humber Valley United Church ( 76 Anglesey Blvd. Etobicoke, Ontario) at 7:00 p.m. This is the presentation format of my popular eBook “A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape” – the only extensive resource available for photographers on landscape photography in Ontario.

Also, a reminder to folks about the upcoming Frogs of the World Photographic Workshop on Saturday November 26th at 8:30 a.m. There are still a few spaces available for this one-of-a-kind workshop that will provide the opportunity to photograph some very interesting frogs from all around the world. Country Images Camera Club & The Frog Pond Adventures Presentation

I am pleased to announce that tonight I will be presenting my Frog Pond Adventures program for the Country Images Camera Club at 8:00 p.m. The presentation will be held at the Newmarket Community Centre in Hall 1, which is located at 200 Doug Duncan Drive in Newmarket, Ontario. This will be my third time presenting to the Country Images Camera Club and I am looking forward to meeting these great folks again.

Toronto Digital Photography Club Presentation

I am looking forward to presenting “A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape”  on Tuesday April 14th to the Toronto Digital Photography Club. The presentation will be starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Edithvale Community Centre located at 131 Finch Ave West in Toronto. As usual, I will be offering copies of my eBook (on CD) to those in attendance, at the presentation special of $20 CDN.

“A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape” is an extensive guide to landscape photography in Ontario complete with driving directions to each of the one-hundred plus locations featured within the guide. It is the only such guide that is available to folks, guiding them around the province to many beautiful vistas. The guide was published in 2011 by Birds As Art Books (Arthur Morris) and is also available for purchase on-line here, however, the presentation special does not apply to on-line sales.

On Tuesday February 17th at 8:00 p.m. yours truly will be presenting the ‘A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape’ lecture for the Country Images Camera Club. This presentation will be held at the Art Ferguson Building located at 16195 Bayview Avenue in Newmarket, Ontario. I have previously presented for Country Images Camera Club so I am looking most forward to meeting these great folks again. As usual I will have copies of my eBook for sale at the low presentation special of $20 each.  A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape is the only extensive guide available for landscape photography within the Province of Ontario.

Up-coming Presentations

Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area, Elmvale, Ontario

I am eagerly  awaiting presenting for two camera clubs this coming week, the first being on Tuesday November 11 at 7:30 pm for the Trillium Photographic Club. The presentation will be held at the East Plains United Church, Peart Hall at 375 Plains Road East Burlington, Ontario. The cost to non-members to attend this presentation is $5.

In-camera Multiple Exposure Blur of Autumn Color in Ontario’s Muskoka Region

On Wednesday November 12 at 7:00 p.m. I will be a guest speaker for the Orillia District Camera Club. This presentation will be held at Helping Hands Orillia at 210 Memorial Drive (back door), which is located in the plaza behind Theo’s, a fabulous restaurant that I have been too many times.

At each of these presentations I will be offering my eBook ‘A Photographer’s Guide to the Ontario Landscape’ at the ‘show special’ of $20. This eBook is the first-ever, extensive resource to landscape photography in Ontario.
